Got Ulu's Engineering up to the 350 mark this morning. When I get back from work, I'll be making the Tankatronic Goggles. And then I'll have to gem it and sort out a head enchant.
It'll be worth it in the end though, I imagine.

Took me about 6 hours and about 500g to get from 0 to 350 as I dropped mining and couldnt be bothered to grind the mats before I did that.
New engineering googles look damn good but its annoying that both the smelting & google upgrades recipes are raid drops. Think im the only tanking engineer in the raid tho.
I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your blog and check it daily. There is quite a heated discussion on the WoW professions forum about how the v3.0 goggle recipes will be distributed in 2.4. Personally, as someone that has leveled Engineering to 375 I will be very disappointed if the recipe only drops in the 25 man Sunwell. There isn't a whole lot of useful items in Engineering as it is (maybe the mote extractor and the XL cables that fail 8/10 times) sure we have the v2.0 goggles but I wish Blizzard would throw Engineers a bone for once. How is it that Tailors get these great craft-able gear sets and we have one item slot that T4-T5 quality?

I don't have a problem with it really.
Do I wish they'd drop somewhere outside Sunwell Plateau? Sure, but realistically, c'mon, they're T6-level items!
No-one else gets that level of gear from their professions without some raid drops being involved.
However, I'm almost certain the schematics are going to be BoE drops. Each upgrade schematic is too much of a niche item to be a BoP. It requires that you have someone of the correct spec and profession to use it, so they'll have to make them BoP to make sure half of them aren't left on the bodies of whatever mob dropped them.
Like the T6 crafting patterns, I imagine it won't be too long before we see them doing the rounds in the AH, so I'd keep checking that.
Wont be cheap at 1st but will drop pretty quickly I think. Never know they might make them BoP but stupidly high drop rate so basicly setting foot in 25Sunwell guarantees you will get it :P
As Ulu says they are T6 gear, just 'giving' them away would be abit much methinks as they dont even need Vortexes to make.
