From Peter's comment on my last post re: the lack of soulbinding on items in Age of Conan:

Within a month it will be impossible to level any new characters due to twinks serial-ganking newbies. The economy as a whole will be completely fucked in three months.

I doubt it to be honest. The only tradeable mob drop items I've seen were green-quality items either equal to, or on a par with similar level quest items. I have yet to see the equivalent of superior or epic quality drops from standard mobs, and certainly not in the low level bracket.

Twinking as we understand it in WoW is by-and-large impossible. The closest thing the game has to Enchanting is jewelcrafting, and the only socketable items in the game are high-level crafted items. It's incredibly difficult to create a gigantic gear disparity at low levels.

I'm enjoying AoC as well. I ended up rolling a Cimmerian Bear Shaman and am currently level 17 on the Doomsayer PvP server. FFA PvP is quite an exciting experience for me as i'm used to my PvE server in WoW. I get an adrenaline rush when i'm in the White Sand Isles or the other PvP areas and I have to say it's fun so far. I guess once I'm out of Tortage it will be a different ball game so i'll see how I like it then. How are you enjoying it now that you are out of Tortage?

Also, I wanted to give you a heads up on a frames tip and how to increase your frames per second. Check this post: http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=36403
I guess there is some kind of bug if you have selected "low" settings. This worked like a charm for me as I was running the game on low and only getting 15-20 fps and then I switched to "high" settings, turned the shader to 2.0, shadows off and system texture cache bar maximized. Now i'm getting an average of 80fps and it's just awesome. Sometimes the shader jumps back to 3.0 when I first log in so I check the video settings and set back to 2.0 when I first get in game.
